Obituary and service for WWII U.S. Army Paratrooper Tom Rice

Good day HFSD volunteers,

As many of you know, we lost a legend on Thursday. WWII D-Day Paratrooper Tom Rice took his final jump. Attached is his obituary which will be in newspapers this week with the attached photo (it is one of my favorites).

His public celebration of life service will be on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at Coronado High School at noon. Many officials will be there and Team Tom Rice is planning for about 400 people. It is open to the public if you’d like to attend.

Condolences can be sent to Brenda at: 630 H Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118 and you’ll see in the obituary that she asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Honor Flight San Diego in Tom’s memory.

Our thoughts are with Brenda, the Rice family, and his friends as we mourn the loss of this hero.
